It consisted of the Heer (army), the Kriegsmarine (navy) and the Luftwaffe (air force). The Waffen-SS, the combat arm of the SS (the Nazi Party's paramilitary organization), became the de facto fourth branch of the Wehrmacht, as it expanded from three regiments to 38 divisions by 1945. There was an assault weapon made and that could be what you mean. The problem with universal assault weapons (high capacity select fire rifles) is keeping an ammo supply. The Germans had an excellent machine gun they issued abundantly. The world copied it like they did their Mauser rifle. It gave them the greatest advantage, beyond their powerful, but expensive and intricate tanks. We expended tremendous amounts of ammo in Viet Nam because soldiers just sprayed it out of their M16's. They could do that only because of C-130 and helicopter supply lines. Those didn't exist in WW II. Parachute drops often landed in the wrong places. Q. We all know Jews were opressed. But there were around 3000 of Muslims of Slav, Turkish and Bosnian descent living in Germany between 1933 and 1945. Some served in the German army. However, my father being muslim, I often wonder how we would of been treated if we lived in the Wehrmacht. Would we have thought to be Jews, due to our facial proportions?
