unknown ue, 19 Jan 2010 15:09:18 GM Royal Society librarian Keith Moore said the apple story has resonated for centuries considering it packs in so much an illustration of how contemporary science works, an implicit reference to the . solar system. and even an allusion to the Bible. Q. what information can we get from observing other solar systems? Asked by caname23 - Thu Jun 25 01:11:28 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. As you start observing, you will find that there are two broad categories of things you will want to look at. Our own solar system with its planets, the Sun, the Moon, and other bodies forms one category. Objects that lie outside of our solar system form the other category, often referred to as "deep sky objects". Big as it seems to us, the solar system is just Earth's backyard. "Deep Sky" is a term which astronomers use to describe the realm of all things that lie beyond our solar system. It includes star clusters and nebulas within our galaxy (the Milky Way) and other galaxies that lie far beyond the Milky Way in the outer reaches of our universe. Our technology is not good enough yet, but many advances are being made to increase space… [cont.] Answered by TJ - Thu Jun 25 01:39:12 2009 Titan seas:Are these the only seas in solar system?
Q. Ok,I know that here on earth there are a couple of seas too :-) and most likely there's an ocean under the ices of Europa.. But except from that, are the seas found on Titan recently the only ones on our solar system? Otherwise, are these the only ones observed? Also, what exactly is the material of those seas? Asked by tzanak - Sat Mar 24 07:15:59 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. so far as we have observed the seas of titan are the only other liquid oceans we know o that are not under frozen ice. This is what the BBC says The Cassini spacecraft has discovered possible evidence for lakes filled with liquid hydrocarbons around the north pole of Saturn's moon Titan. If confirmed, Titan would become the only planetary body other than Earth known to host lakes. Europa is believed to have liquid water under the ice. Callisto (another of jupiters moons) is also believed to possibly hold liquid oceans under ice. There is some thought a moon of Saturn (Enceladus) may also have liquid oceans under ice. At some point in time in the past Mars had a liquid oceans. But water there is currenlty under the ice at the polar… [cont.] Answered by Adorabilly - Sat Mar 24 08:13:55 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "solar system observing" |
