How did Angola become a native-Portuguese speaking country while in the rest of Africa the colonial languages are spoken as second and third languages and people were able to keep their native african languages?

The Portuguese language, from the 1400's to the 1600's was what english is today, the "lingua franca" of the world, because the portuguese were the first europeans to reach Africa, Brazil and all of Asia all the way to Japan. So when the 19th century colonization started, the portuguese language and the portuguese themselves were already in Africa for 400 years...

How come Portuguese is such a hot language?
Q. I once watched a news report in Portuguese and even though I understood nothing the woman said it just sounded sooo hot! Spanish isn't really like that from what I heard. Its just Portuguese.
