peopleDefinition from Wiktionary, the free dictionary Jump to: navigation, search Wikipedia has an article on: PeopleFrom Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The English noun people (singular "person") refers to a plurality of human beings. It has two usages:
Because the word people often refers to abstract and general types of groups, the word persons is sometimes used in place of people, especially when it would be ambiguous with its collective sense (e.g. missing persons instead of people). It can collectively refer to all humans or it can be used to identify a certain ethnic or religious group. For example, "people of color" is a phrase used in North America to describe non-whites. Answered by Blunt Answer - Fri Apr 3 17:21:03 2009 What do people often forget to consider when choosing a breed? Q. What should people consider why starting to choose a breed? What is often overlooked when people fall in love with a breed? Does this generally happen because people don't consider it at all, or because they think they can make the dog adapt to it because they really want the breed even though it isn't a good fit? What were some of the worst breed choices you have seen people make? Asked by sciencechick - Mon Nov 17 17:23:29 2008 - - 15 Answers - 0 Comments A. The most overlooked would be the dog's energy level, grooming needs and basic breed characteristics. It's appalling to me that people think they can keep a breed like a german shepherd or border collie in an apartment. Or think a dog like a lab is good with a half hour walk a day. My pet peeve is people who buy a gorgeous, long-haired breed (afghans come to mind!), then keep their hair cut short because they're too bloody lazy to groom the dog. Then there's those who are dismayed because their terriers dig and bark, their beagles bay, etc. Too many people in this world of instant gratification are lacking the common sense to research a breed before getting it - then when they find they can't groom, train or exercise it, the dog ends… [cont.] Answered by walking lady - Mon Nov 17 17:39:57 2008 Why do people some people consider Cleveland to be a dirty city?
Q. I visited Cleveland last June and really enjoyed myself there. Before planning my trip, I read a couple a travel books and a few personal opinions on a travel site of people who had visited. Quite a few people regarded it as being a dirty city that offered visitors few entertainment sites; however, when I visited I found it to be a really beautiful city--much cleaner than most! Just wondering what people on yahoo answers have to say about Cleveland. Also, not topic related, but, I saw a UFO in Cleveland; that became the highlight of my trip. Asked by David K - Wed Mar 26 01:43:04 2008 - - 1 Answers - 2 Comments A. I've spent quite a bit of time in Cleveland, as my husband has had 2 surgeries requiring extended stays at Cleveland Clinic. Which is one of the best hospitals I've ever seen, by the way. Downtown Cleveland is rather nice. We liked walking around by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Science Center on the water. And restaurant row has some surprisingly good places. We liked the downtown stadium too -- convenient. Nearby Chagrin Falls was a cute town to visit as a day trip. All in all, it's not a bad place to visit for a while. However, driving from downtown to the hospital, we did pass through some less than desirable areas. But all cities have such areas, so we didn't pay much attention. No UFO's for us, sorry.
