A distinction is maintained in philosophy and law between the notions "human being", or "man", and "person". The former refers to the species, while the latter refers to a rational agent (see, for example, John Locke's Essay concerning Human Understanding II 27 and Immanuel Kant's Introduction to the Metaphysic of Morals). Central issues of interest to people are the understanding of the human condition and the meaning of life, and survival. Romanian is the official language in both Moldova and Romania (those are in Eastern Europe). Romanians often make fun of the way we speak "their" language. There are entire sites dedicated to jokes about us and our dialect. What sucks is that we seem to have developed an inferiority complex because of that :( So, yeah, it's all over the world, not just in the large countries. You know how everyone's uncomfortable with stuff that's even a tiny bit different from what they're used to. Then again, it's understandable in some cases, like when it creates mutual unintelligibility. Take the Scottish dialect for example. With about 5 billion inhabitants, that would only be 5 one-hundredths of 1 percent (0.05%) of the Earth's population in the air at one time. Here's a sobering thought: If all 10,000 of those aircraft were blown up by terrorists at the same instant, we'd never notice the population drop looking at it from a global perspective.
