The concept of precision inspection can be construed to mean different things in different industries. There are industries that can consider precision as .03, .01, .001, .001, or all the way down to one micron. As the needed precision gets smaller and smaller the expense of the necessary measuring tools goes up, quite drastically for the smallest precision levels.
