Albert Arnold "Al" Gore, Jr. (born March 31, 1948) is an American environmental activist who served as the 45th Vice President of the United States from 1993 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. He is an author, businessperson, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, and former journalist. Senate (1985–93) (representing Tennessee) before becoming vice president. Gore was the Democratic nominee for president in the 2000 presidential election. He won the popular vote by approximately 500,000 votes, but ultimately lost the electoral college to Republican candidate George W. Bush when the legal controversy over the Florida election recount was eventually settled in the U.S. Supreme Court by a 5-4 margin in favor of Bush. Gore is the recipient of a number of awards. He and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. Gore received a Primetime Emmy Award for Current TV in 2007, and a Webby Award in 2005. Why does he get to pollute the environment more than others? Q. Al Gore gets to fly in a private jet and gets carted around in big cars. He pollutes more than 100 "regular" people. Is this a case of Liberal Elitism (Rosie O Donnell is against gun ownership for 'regular' people, but her body guards are allowed to carry because she is important) or is this a case of the Al Gore 'Destroying the World in order to Save it'? Q. In his movie Al Gore severely exagerates and distorts the effects of global warming. His prescriptions would reek much havok in world economies destroying impoverished peoples opportunity to climb the economic ladder. While at the same time doing hardly nothing in reversing the global warming trend. Asked by ace - Fri Oct 12 12:38:27 2007 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments A. His film was a documentary, and had the basic science correct. "The nation's top climate scientists are giving An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore's documentary on global warming, five stars for accuracy." Besides which, Gore has put a lot of effort into spreading information about global warming besides making "An Inconvenient Truth". He deserved to share the award with the IPCC scientists for his efforts.
