Is Egyptian cotton the best in bedding?
Q. I am planning to upgrade the bedding in my entire house and decided to go for the best this time. Is Egyptian cotton the best and softest of all? I am going for separate sheets, covers, comfortors etc., as opposed to "bed-in-a-bag with pretty designs" which I had previously, so that I can select higher threadcounts...what threadcounts are considered the best in Egyptian cotton? Lastly what are some good places to get these from? (Only soft bedding enthusiasts answer!)

A. Anything over 350 or 400 thread count is great but the higher you can go the better. Be aware that they will come out of the dryer looking like they need to be ironed and I do iron my pillow cases and the top of the top sheet that shows. These days sheets of this level can be purchased in a lot of places but you can get your best deals at Linens N Things and Bed Bath and Beyond especially with their ongoing 20% off coupons. The bed in a bag sheets are usually only 250 so you are right to not want to use them. If I like the comforters and shams in them, I give the sheets to Goodwill. My highest thread count right now is 1000 and it is perfect. Be sure to wash these sheets on a cold water setting and dry them on a delicate setting. … [cont.]

What are the requirements for a an Egyptian citizen student to leave Egypt during the school year?
Q. Hi, my husband is egyptian and is living in Egypt right now. We are finishing up his immigration documents but now he is worried about not being able to leave the country during the college school year. He says that there is some sort of law that restricts students to leave during the school year. He says it's somehow connected with some military law. Does anyone know anything about this law? Please help! Does anyone know what else he will have to get to be able to leave the country other than a military permission?

What are some of the different words between the Egyptian dialect and the Emirati dialect ?
Q. I noticed that there are some words which are different between my dialect "the Egyptian dialect " and the Emirati dialect . Like for example here , you guys call stationery as "kortasya" . We call it " adawat maktabya" . The word "Kortasya" has absloutely no meaning in the Egyptian dialect except for "cones" . I know also you call bread " sammon" . We call it " 3esh" . What else ?

A. :) there are huge differents in the dialect and in the words, almost nothing in common, for example: if an egyptian went to emirates he will hardly understand them but after short time he will find it easy, because it's all relatet to arabic but they speak in a diffrent way, also egyptian's "local" dialect or language not pure arabic it has some of french words and few english words but not the origenal words because it's changed a little in our language like " tableya" it means tha small "table" which the old egyptians used to eat on, also "coverta" it means the "cover" which they put on when they seleep "the blanket"..and so many many words..thats why you will find the egyptian dialect is different from many dialect not only emirati… [cont.]
