From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The term developed country is used to describe countries that have a high level of development according to some criteria. Which criteria, and which countries are classified as being developed,is a contentious issue and is surrounded by fierce debate. Economic criteria have tended to dominate discussions. One such criterion is income per capita; countries with high gross domestic product (GDP) per capita would thus be described as developed countries. Another economic criterion is industrialization; countries in which the tertiary and quaternary sectors of industry dominate would thus be described as developed. More recently another measure, the Human Development Index, which combines an economic measure, national income, with other measures, indices for life expectancy and education has become prominent. This criterion would define developed countries as those with a very high (HDI) rating. However, many anomalies exist when determining "developed" status by whichever measure is used. Countries not fitting such definitions are classified as developing countries. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What were some important things that the Romans developed? Q. I have to write an paragraph for a project in World History about what the most important thing we've studied in history is. My group chose Rome. Here is my paragraph so far: Our group has decided that Rome is the most important thing we ve studied because it was so influential to the rest of Europe as well as other parts of the world. Many cultures and groups of people would never have developed or existed if it wasn t for the Romans. What are some things that the Romans helped develop? Any suggestions on what to include? It doesn't have to be too long. Thanks everybody! Asked by L ur n - Mon Nov 26 19:36:57 2007 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments A. Aqueducts!!! What kinds of ways have been developed to grow food, other than using soil in the ground? Are there other substances in which food can grow? Are there methods that harm the environment less than traditional growing methods? How do these new methods work? Are they more or less efficient than growing food in soil? Asked by veronica-molina@sbcglobal.net - Mon Feb 20 19:25:45 2006 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Rather than growing plants in soil, you can grow them in a liquid medium, typically water with added minerals. The term for this is hydroponics. It has been suggested that hydroponics might be used in space facilities both to grow food as well as replenish the oxygen in the air/remove carbon dioxide. Q. Hi! I have some old camera films from about 4 years ago that I want to get developed. Hopefully there are some good photos on there and I'll probably get them developed regardless, but I was wondering if the photos will come out well after all this time. Do you know? Thanks! Asked by jozudave - Sun Apr 11 21:14:11 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. it depends if your film is fast or slow speed and if they have been in the dark or in a sunny room. you might see slight color distortion but that can easily be fixed if you tell the developer to color correct the pix or edit them yourself Answered by darkwave420 - Sun Apr 11 22:54:06 2010 From Yahoo Answer Search: "developed" Avenue opens for new ovarian cancer drugs - Telegraph.co.uk
