How do you stretch a vertical navigation bar using CSS to have the same height as the content box?
Q. I just started creating a website and decided to use a two sided layout. I have my navigation bar on the left and the content box on the right. The width is set but not the height because every page will have varying content. When I put in a lot of information in the content side, the box stretches down. However, the navigation bar remains the same height. The result is two boxes of different sizes and the background color filling the empty space. How do I stretch my navigation box to have the same height as my content box?

A. its hard... you can set the max-height for each box( i think you use divs) or make the contenbt div scrollable - when you pass the selected height, will appear a scroll - and that scroll is designable with css.

What is the best Navigation system to get for a reasonable price?
Q. Hi, I need a navigation system for my car, but one that doesn't confuse me and is really easy to program and understand. Thanks.

A. Pioneer is pretty good, and reasonable. The only thing i dont like about the new Pioneer units are the wake up time when you first start the car. Kenwood unit is pretty darn hard to beat anymore, and the nav is extremelly easy to use. I use eclipse in my own vehicle, and it is harder to work at first, but you get used to it after a while. If i were you, and it is just an opinion, i would look into the kenwood unit. www.kenwoodusa.com i do believe is the site.

Does the stock navigation on a 05 Jeep Grand cherokee work in hawaii?

A. You need the NAV disc. Most OEM systems have only the continental US states in their hard drives. Check ebay or amazon for one if you want to save yourself a few bucks.

Is it possible to install a navigation system in a 2004 Audi A4 or A6?
Q. I want to get either an 04 A4 or A6 but I also want a navigation system in it but none come with it. Is it possible?

A. If you cant find one with it already as an option you can always just buy one from the dealer or Ebay and just swap it. Or there are the aftermarket ones, i.e. Garmin.

will adding a new sunroof and navigation system to a new car void the warranty?
Q. I am planning of putting a new sunroof and navigation system to my new altima 08, but will adding these features from a aftermarket void my warranty, or will the dealership tell me something if i do. I dont know anything about what they do if i put those feature in the car. Please help. I would really appreciate your answers.

A. A reputable after market shop can put in a sunroof with no warranty conflicts; also, the sunroof should be warranteed by the supplier. If you're going to use a nav system that simply plugs into the lighter outlet, there are no problems with your factory warranty on the car. All you're doing is using the 12 volt power supply.

Lost at sea with no forms of navigation other than the stars. How can you use the stars to navigate?
Q. Here's the scenario: You are on a boat somewhere in the ocean and all of a sudden for some mysterious reason all forms of navigation are broken. Its just you, the boat and the night sky. The constellations are not familiar to you and the Big dipper and little dipper cannot be found. How can you use the stars visible to you to navigate?

A. Make up names for a few patterns of stars you can see near the horizon in each of the 4 directions ("Three stars on diagonal" "Bunch of Fuzzy") and note them. 20 minutes later observe them again. Those nearest the east will be higher in the sky, those to the west will be lower or out of sight are to the west. Those shifted counter-clockwise are to the north, while those south are shifted clockwise. If you happened to make a poor choice and got NW, SE, etc. you might pick some new "constellations" closer to the points. You have a 50% chance that the moon is in the sky and for more than half the night it will be distinctly east or west of straight overhead. For guidance. You can use the height of the moon when overhead to… [cont.]

How much would it cost to install factory navigation to my 2006 TL?
Q. I have the factory navigation, how much would it cost for Acura to do it? How much would it cost for somewhere else to do it? I also bought the oem lip kit for the car, how much would it cost for Acura to install? How much would it cost for somewhere else to install? Thanks.

A. If you have the products and just need them to do the installation, i assume they'll only charge you for the labor - which could range from 100-150 an hour depends on where you live. I would strongly recommend you to have those items intalled by the Acura Dealership - its better, thats my opinion.

How do I use the navigation in a Nissan Murano?
Q. I have a NIssan Murano as a courtesy car for the next few days. It has navigation, but I cannot figure out how to use it. If I touch the screen nothing happens and I can't get it to the navigation menu. It just stays on radio. Does anyone have this vehicle or know how to use it?
Asked by Hilary6 - Mon Aug 6 14:07:12 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You have to make sure that the vehicle really does come with Navigation because ALL Muranos come standard with a 7" screen. If it is all orange L.E.D's, then you DONT have Navigation. If you have a color screen, then you might possibly have a new Murano with or without Navigation. The only way to tell if you have Navigation is whenever you start the vehicle up, if there is a Warning "Do not operate Navigation while Driving"...then yes you have Navigation. And should have a MAP button. Press that or DEST to enter in your destination. From the sound of things, i really doubt you have the Navigation but rather just the standard 7" screen that displays Navigation. If you figure you really have the Navi, type another question and ill go… [cont.]

What is the max distance the navigation lights can be seen?
Q. An offshore drilling rig is being towed out to sea. What is the maximum distance away that the navigation lights can still be seen by an observer standing at the shoreline? The observer's eye height is 5'9" and the uppermost navigation light is 225 ft above the water. I need some help solving this problem. Please show steps. Thanks!!!
Asked by whawkeyes06 - Wed Aug 29 19:22:09 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Assuming a circular earth with radius r (in feet). form a triangle with a point on the earth, a line tangent (at right angles) to a point which is r+225ft in altitude, the distance to this point would be sqrt( (r+225)^2-r^2) from the point on the earth form another right triangle to the observer distance would be sqrt( (r+5+9/12)^2-r^2)) Add the two distances. Of course, this assumes that light travels in a straight line and ignores scattering and transmission lost (e.g. there no fog) The tangent point is the farest point on the earth that the observer can see. To see a point farther it much be above the earth.

Is There A Difference Between Land and Maritime Celestial Navigation?
Q. I'm just wondering because I'm trying to learn Celestial Navigation and I go onto amazon and all the books are about celestial navigation for seafarers. Could these books be used as a starting point for learning celestial navigation on land? Thanks.

A. In so far as determining your position and heading go, yes, with a few provisos. On land you are not constantly moving which means you can gain accuracy in some observations. However, you do not have the same uncluttered horizon that you usually have at sea, and so some timing operations that depend on observing the rise or set of objects can't be done in the same way.

Just copy and paste it into exactly what it says. Home Link: Hom e Message Link: Message Me For the message link you'll have to put in your friend id. There is a tutorial on finding your friend id here if you don't know how to: P.S. Get rid of the "enters" I added in the codes. I only did that because the whole thing won't show up if I did it all on one line. Good luck! I hope this helped!

With a fiber optic system, signals are digital (as opposed to the analog signals in an aftermarket system), and you can't interface. Find a high-end shop. Car stereo… [cont.]
