What is the recommended dosage of vitamin C for a for a female adolescent?
Q. I took a vitamin C tablet with 500mg in it today. I would like to take a multivitamin but they also have vitamin C (200 mg) is 700 mg of vitamin C too much? The multivitamin says the vitamin C is ascorbic acid if that helps.

A. Taking 700 mg of vitamin C per day is OK but less would be OK as well. To get the optimum benefit from your 700 mg of vitamin C it would be best not to take both tablets together. Perhaps you could take your multivitamin with breakfast and your 500 mg vitamin C tablet with dinner. Vitamin C is water soluble and whatever your body doesn't need ends up in your urine. As your multivitamin contains 200 mg of vitamin C you don't really need the extra 500 mg. You need at least 50 mg of vitamin C and preferably at least 100 mg of vitamin C per day and you can get that from a normal healthy diet that includes plenty of fruit and vegetables.

How important is it to master C language bfor proceeding for C++ java and other high level langgs?
Q. Iam doing my comp engg in india...we arent taught C in extreme detail in our univ...is it crucial or wil it make things very simple for me in the future if i make sure i get a high level training in C at this initial stage?

A. It's good to learn any programming language, however, C is not necessary for learning C++ or Java. Actually, learning C ,which is a procedural language, can be a disadvantage to you because C++ and Java are object oriented languages. Yes, C++ is considered a superset of C, which is why it LOOKS similar. However, if your goal is object oriented programming then it would be better to start with C++ then move to Java and not bother with C.

What is the difference between synthetic and natural vitamin c?
Q. Wondering about the bioavailability regarding vitamin c from natural or sythetic sources. I am specifically looking for studies or scientific proof of the negative effects of sythetic vitamins and specifically vitamin c.
