If the car is original and still completely 6v and you plan on changing it to 12v you need to start by grinding out the inside of the transaxle bell housing. The 12v flywheel is larger than the 6v one. If you don't make room for the new fly wheel you'll get the engine installed but it won't turn over because the teeth of the larger fly wheel are pressed against the edge of the bell housing. You'll also need a 12v starter and bushing and battery. Not to mention changing all 6v bulbs over to 12v. If you use all you old stuff (fly wheel, starter, generator etc.) The swap is straight forward. Pull old engine out, swap parts over to new engine, install new engine.
